AQUARIVA GUCCI WINS THE "WALLPAPER DESIGN AWARD" IN THE "BEST BOAT" CATEGORY

Riva's jewel awarded by prestigious magazine Wallpaper amongst the ultimate in world design

Sarnico, January 14, 2011 - Well-known English magazine Wallpaper has awarded the very best "creations" of 2010: all those items, buildings, spaces, cities which excelled in their innovation and quality, contributing to improve our lives in many different ways. The event was held on January 12th at The Edison in London - the new space redesigned by David Adjaye.

Among the Italian icons that received an award is the outstanding yacht Aquariva Gucci , resulting from a unique working relationship between two of the most famous Italian design houses, Riva and Gucci, and Officina Italiana Design, the designers who created the original Aquariva in 2000. Aquariva Gucci was, in fact, selected amongst the top creations to set a trend in 2010 according to the prestigious English magazine, winning first prize in the "Best Boat" category.

The new Riva yacht model, customised by Frida Giannini, Creative Director at Gucci, was presented as a world première in September 2010 at the Festival International de la Plaisance in Cannes, and in Italy at the Milan Fashion Week. She celebrates the era of La Dolce Vita, in which joie de vivre, glamour and elegance defined a way of living, a lifestyle.

Tradition and innovation have come together in Aquariva Gucci, to create a real jewel of the sea, expression of pure Italian elegance which reflects artisan skills, painstaking attention to detail and use of the most sophisticated materials. All this has led the new Riva yacht towards the international prestige she currently enjoys, celebrated as being part of the "outstanding" of this last year, and destined to become an international style icon.
